Kaush Rakhit M.Sc., P.Geol.
CEO

Kaush founded Rakhit Petroleum Consulting Ltd. (RPCL) in 1989, which became internationally known for its integrated hydrodynamics work and unconventional gas studies. RPCL purchased and merged with Canadian Discovery Ltd. in 2005. Under Kaush’s leadership, CDL grew to be one of the largest data providers for Western Canada, in addition to producing hundreds of technical articles, studies and consulting projects. Kaush also co-founded and has been a director of numerous highly successful junior E&P companies including Groundwater Solutions Ltd. (now Matrix Solutions Inc.), Vicana Ridge Resources, Kinwest Resources Corp., Seven Generations Energy Ltd. and CODA Petroleum Inc. Kaush earned his B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo and was the first person to earn a post-graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Petroleum Hydrogeology from the University of Alberta.


Paul O'Donoghue MBA
Managing Director—Corporate

Paul brings over 20 years of experience of progressively senior financial and leadership positions with Alberta Energy Corporation, Natural Gas Clearinghouse, PrimeWest Energy and Trident Resources Corp. His expertise includes corporate development, financing (debt/equity), acquisitions/divestures, investor relations, risk management, marketing and legal affairs. Paul has been with CDL since 2012 and currently leads corporate and strategic development with overall responsibility for finance, sales, marketing, administration and human resources. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Oklahoma City University and a MBA in Finance from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.


Matt Baird
Data Director

Matt has over 15 years of experience in oil & gas industry database and application development. As a database architecture specialist, he has played a key role in numerous high profile initiatives at CDL, including the development of CDL’s Play Evaluation Platform, the EDGE software and the Well Completions & Frac Database. In his current role as Data Director, Matt oversees and guides CDL’s Data Division day-to-day operations and continual development. He manages the Data Analytics team responsible for the development and continued quality of CDL’s databases and platforms as well as the information services and technology group. Matt holds a diploma in Computer Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.


Meridee Fockler P.Geol., B.App.GIS
Technical Analysis Director

Meridee joined Canadian Discovery in 2005 working with both CDL's Intelligence and Expertise groups as well as with data management and GIS personnel to streamline geological mapping techniques. Currently, as Technical Analysis Director, Meridee plays a key role in Intelligence projects and products, including developing, editing and managing content for Discovery Digest, CDL's weekly publication. She has worked with Amoco in Calgary, Houston and London, gaining experience in Canadian and international exploration and development. Meridee holds a B.Sc. (Geological Engineering) from the University of Saskatchewan and an Applied Bachelor of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.


Tiffiny Yaxley B.Sc., Geol.
Senior Account Executive

Tiffiny brings 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to CDL, including five years in technical geology roles at both small and multi-national companies. In 2012, Tiffiny moved into a technical sales role where she discovered her passion for presenting, human interaction and helping others. She holds a B.Sc (Geology) from the University of Alberta, and is an active volunteer and member of the CWLS (President 2015–2016), SPWLA, CSPG and AAPG. Tiffiny was featured in the Oil and Gas Magazine Spring 2015 issue “The Women Impacting Your Energy Future” as one of the future female leaders in Alberta. With Tiffiny’s combined technical and sales experience she works alongside Canadian Discovery’s top-notch team of technical professionals, to help her clients achieve success.
